Star Wars

Personally, Star Wars are not my favorite movies, or my type of movies that I usually watch. But I can recognize the art that goes into the movies from the make-up to the set design and to the graphics. The use of color and gestures are just amazing and so well thought out. I love the text in the shape of Darthvator using a graphic element. The makeup and costumes alone in these deleted scenes are just amazing.

"Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise centered on a film series created by George Lucas. The film series, consisting of two trilogies, has spawned an extensive media franchise called the Expanded Universe including books, television series, computer and video games, and comic booksThe first film in the series was originally released on May 25, 1977, under the title Star Wars, by 20th Century Fox, and became a worldwide pop culturephenomenon, followed by two sequels, released at three-year intervals. Sixteen years after the release of the trilogy's final film, the first in a new pre-queltrilogy of films was released. The three prequel films were also released at three-year intervals, with the final film of the trilogy released on May 19, 2005. In October 2012, The Walt Disney Company acquired Lucas film for $4.05 billion and announced that it would produce three new films, with the first film,Star Wars Episode VII, planned for release in 2015."

The computer graphics for the first Star Wars film was created by Larry Cuba in the 1970s at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL) (at the time known as the Circle Graphics Habitat) at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

at&t word advertising

I automatically thought of the AT&T "World" advertisement when we got this assignment. The campaign was made to show that all across the globe, AT&T could reach any country. I love this idea! And I love how they used hands in the ads also to show that community-ness. Its very appealing and a smart creative idea on AT&Ts part.

Soldiers video

I chose to watch the "soldiers" video, which of course I don't know why i chose that one. I have a huge respect for our military(my dad was in the Navy, my little brother is in the Army) & I also have a love/hate relationship with military videos. Some of them make me happy when people are coming home surprising their families, and then they make me sad because I know not everyone comes home. But none-the-less I decided to watch it and it was a tear jerker for me. The video was short, but will tug at your heart. It takes place in a cemetery, and a mom is sitting at her sons gravestone, and her son Michael is there, but in spirit. They say "hi" back & forth to each other. There is so much emotion behind such a short video. The music only added to the intense emotion and went with the video really well.

modren

I found a modern illuminated piece of art by Jeff Bacon. He has many different ones that he has done. He loves seeing the difference of art then and now

"I can’t help but draw a comparison between the modern graphic novel and those older illustrated documents. And feel inspired to resurrect and modernize the style for my own purposes. Others have done it over the years, so I’m not the first, but it will be interesting to see how it’s received in the comic/graphic novel community."

PSA Poster

When i first saw "choking poster" I didn't know exactly what that was. but after researching i found what they were talking about with the choking poster. its more like a guide to how to help someone if they are choking. There were SO many different choking posters that i could find. some with "cartoon" looking people, and some with actual pictures of people, and even different ones for children. These PSA posters were put in restaurants, schools, day cares and many other places to help people who are trying to help someone who is choking.

type

When I sat down to find something that was type in graphic design, this is one of the very first ones that i saw and i loved it. The designer takes words and creates an image just out of the words. you can see what the shape is supposed to be right off the bat when you look at it but it shows it in a different way. Pixelprotest isn't just one designer, it is a website where all different artist can come to sell their designs. You can sell your designs on t-shirts, stickers and posters. I thought that was more interesting then looking at just one designer. this is a way a website and showcase up and coming artists and give them a chance to sell their work.

in the water

When we were given this assignment to find a picture of movement, color or depth form, movement stuck out in my mind. I just think of how difficult it would be to show movement in a picture. Art is very difficult for me, and I don't have the most creative imagination so I can really respect these art pieces that show movement.

So I decided to stick with the water theme and look at a few different photographs that show movement with water. ||All pictures came from this website http://www.stockvault.net/blog/photography/beautiful-photographs-of-movement-in-water/ ||

The middle picture of the little boy puts a smile on my face. I loved being outside and in water when i was a kid. This just reminds me of being a kid and not having anything to worry about, just playing in the sprinkler outside on a hot summer day.

And of course the last one is my favorite! the picture is just beautiful. the way the red dress flows in the water is just beautiful! They did an amazing job on capturing the movement in the water.

LOVE!

I love looking at photographs and works of art to get inspired. Many different things inspire me. But one website in particular has made it so much easier to get inspired by many different things. whether it is to organize my room, eat healthier, dress cuter, add a touch of paint in the house, or cook an amazing meal for dinner, and that website is Pinterest. I am a Pinterest FREAK! I am always pinning when i have the chance! And you can usually tell when I'm trying to study because I have been pinning a lot to avoid studying (:

But anyway back to the website, Pinterest inspires me to do and wish for a lot of things. Being a girly girl like I am, I can't wait to get married (well I can in reality, but i can't wait to plan a wedding!) and pinterest lets me do that! So my wedding board is filled with "inspiration" for my wedding one day....hopefully soon. (hint hint maybe my boyfriend should read this ;)

now this dress is everything I think a wedding dress should be. It is the ULTIMATE dress-in my eyes. Its elegant and sexy at the same time, and timeless. Now I don't know if I could ever have the guts to pull it off, but WOW a girl can dream and be inspired to plan a elegant wedding just by looking at this picture!

Heres another one that I would die for just for fun! Man all this wedding dress looking is making me get that wedding fever. :) ANYWAY! Although Pinterest does let my inner girl come out to plan my dream wedding and create a baby board for what my kids one day will wear and what their rooms will look like, it also has many pictures that are not about fashion or love or babies, but that are truly inspirational. I have a soft spot for the elderly and love, and pinterest is full of their sweet pictures.
I love "old" couples who have been together for decades, and i think their love is inspirational. Love isn't easy, and isn't perfect, but just by a simple picture I am reminded that Love can last, if you work at it.
